From the CEO
My connection to the fair goes back three decades. As a teenager, I started working
in fair operations for Fisher, driving the trailers to each venue, training staff
and making scones for customers myself. I learned quickly about the appeal
of a fresh-baked scone slathered with whipped butter and raspberry jam. It didn’t
take long before I became hooked on the idea of delivering smiles to our customers,
one fresh-baked bite at a time.

For more than 100 years, Fisher has been celebrating all that draws people together.
Still locally owned, we believe strongly in supporting communities, whether that community stretches across rolling wheat fields, is located on county fairgrounds, plays itself out in a family kitchen or is found on the front lines of a local charity.
At our core, we believe in simply prepared recipes that are created from high-quality natural ingredients. By doing so, we nurture families while promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices that honor the earth.
We work in partnership with local growers to bring you the best of the harvest. Our commitment extends through a variety of affiliations, including Shepherd’s Grain, an alliance of progressive family farms that grow wheat using sustainable practices across the Northwest. We ensure the health and wellness of families by carefully following quality-control and safety standards, and by carefully sourcing ingredients from our local farmers.
Each year, we donate food, money and time to such organizations as Food Lifeline, Children's Hospital in Seattle, St. Martin de Porres Shelter, and Boys & Girls Clubs.
We are honored to take an active role in these organizations and projects, and pleased we've helped them help others.
For more than 100 years now, Fisher has given back in ways both big and small.
Simply put, we aim to do good.
Fisher traces its beginning to 1910 when Fisher Flour Mills incorporated in Seattle. A year later, the company started milling operations on Harbor Island, nested between what is now downtown Seattle and the nearby neighborhood of West Seattle along the Duwamish Waterway. The company quickly established itself as the largest flour mill in the western United States.
To promote the use of its high-quality flour, Fisher Flour Mills came up with the idea of selling piping-hot scones at major fairs, starting out at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco and soon after at the Puyallup Fair in Washington state. Those delicious Fisher Fair Scones quickly attracted a loyal following that continues to this day.
On June 1, 2011, we celebrated our 100th anniversary.
A few months later, on Sept. 15, 2011, we sold our 100th millionth scone, and from the very same location — the Washington State Fair in Puyallup — where it all began so manly years ago.
To this day, our original scone recipe continues to delight millions each year as we serve them from the very same booth at the Puyallup Fair where the tradition started nearly 100 years ago.
While scones remain a staple in our product line-up — besides the scones we serve at fair, we also sell an Original Fair Scone Mix in stores — we expanded our offering in 2010 to include a Pancake & Baking Mix, Cornbread Mix, Biscuit Mix, White Whole Wheat Flour, All-Purpose Flour, Cranberry Orange Scone Mix, and Blueberry Scone Mix.
